Well…pretty much our best friends in the whole wide world…Thomas and Kristin had their baby this week. You may remember Thomas and Kristin’s shoot from last September. I was supposed to document their birth story, but was unable to get back from WPPI (Wedding and Portrait Photographer International). So Saturday, Emily and I dropped by to meet Mason! Generally, fresh out the womb babies look like aliens to me, but not Mason. He’s actually a cute little guy! Although I don’t shoot a lot of infants, it sure was fun to capture this special moment for our friends. Here is a preview of the shoot. Congrats Thomas and Kristin and welcome little Mason!
It’s here again…WPPI 2010. The next several days will be jammed packed with everything photography. To say I’m excited is a huge understatement. This event occurs annually and brings together thousands upon thousands of wedding photographers to Las Vegas. Everyone who is anyone in the industry will be present. Every gadget, camera, lighting, etc. can be found here. It’s amazing! Last year, was a blast…you can read about it here.
I have parties that I’m attending and a shoot planned…so it should be great!
So for the next few days, I may be a little slower to respond to emails. Hope you all have a great week…I know I will.
This fantastic couple contacted me awhile back about wanting to give each other a photo session for Valentine’s day. It was absolutely perfect weather and light. I have been eyeing some trees right next to my home for quite some time. I was finally able to capture a cute couple in this setting. I loved it. We then headed down to St Paul for some Urban photos. All in all it was a fantastic shoot! Thank Guys!

As I headed out to shoot Krisite and Caleb’s wedding a few weeks ago, I couldn’t help but think about the song “Ironic” by Alanis Morissette. As you may know, in this song she things about ironic things like “having 10,000 spoons when all you need is a knife” or “like having rain on your wedding day”. These struck me because as ironic as rain is on your wedding day, it is not nearly as ironic as rain on your wedding day in the middle of winter in Minnesota. However, that is just what we got for Kristie and Caleb’s wedding. Many brides may have been upset with the rain, but Kristie had a smile all day long (see pictures below). Despite the terrible weather the day went off perfectly.
Congrats Kristie and Caleb!!!
In case you missed it, here is Kristie and Caleb’s engagement session:
Ceremony – Trinity Lutheran of Minnehaha Falls
Reception – Holiday Inn Metrodome ![]()
This is how you embrace having rain on your wedding day…with a smile.
Love this shot!
I don’t think it’s possible to look at this photo without smiling…go ahead and try it.
I had clear away a bunch of tables at the restaurant, but it was worth it.
