Watch Her Grow – Part 2

This past week, I took Emily out for another maternity shoot.  I wanted to mix things up this time around by shooting the session on film.  I have been so giddy all week waiting to see these photos and I’m just in love with what we got.  For anyone wondering, these were shot on my Contax RTS II with a Zeiss 50mm lens using Fuji Professional 400h film.    We even had to get the tripod out and try out the timer on my camera.  I’ll say it again…I’m just loving these photos straight out of camera!!!

In case you would like to see the first installment of Em’s maternity photos, here is Watch Her Grow – Part 1

Minnesota Wedding Photographer–Backyard Wedding–Kelly & Collin

This wedding was unique in EVERY way! Kelly contacted me just 10 days before the wedding and booked me.  She explained that Kelly and Collin were going to have a very low-key backyard wedding and that the whole day would take place at Colin’s sister’s house.  When I showed up on the wedding day, I couldn’t have been more excited about the location. The house was amazing and designed perfectly in a retro style.  To say I loved this house would be an understatement. There was just so much eye candy everywhere.

There were about 20 guests in attendance. The ceremony was held in the backyard next to the river.  You could not have picked a more lovely setting for this type of wedding.  The ceremony was something very special.  Having known this couple for just over a week, I found myself tearing up as the ceremony took place.  There was NOT a dry eye there.  It was just plain amazing and inspiring.

The fun continued as Kelly asked if it would be all right to grab a few shots in the river with her dress and some boots…Yes Please!  This wedding was perfect in every way and perfectly celebrated this amazing couple!  Thanks Kelly and Collin for letting me spend the day with you.  I wish you both a very Happy Life together!!!

Best,
John
